“Simple Summary of Terms
👋 Who We Are & What We Do
Neighborly Rideshare is a software platform, not a transportation company.
We do not own cars, do not employ drivers, and do not personally give rides or make deliveries.
Our job is to connect people who need rides or small deliveries with independent drivers who choose to use our platform.
🚗 For Riders (People Booking Rides or Deliveries)
When you request a ride or delivery through the app, website, text, or phone, you’re asking to be matched with an independent driver, not with a company employee.
A request is not confirmed until you get a clear confirmation (in-app, text, email, or calendar) that a driver has accepted.
Sometimes no driver is available or willing to accept a request — in that case, the ride simply won’t be booked.
All payments for platform-arranged trips are electronic only (no cash). We use secure third-party processors (like Square).
Prices are usually based on time and/or distance calculated by GPS and map tools (for example, Google Maps).
You are responsible for:
-Being ready, and on time.Having proper child safety seats if you’re traveling with young children.
Treating drivers respectfully and not damaging vehicles.
If you’re under 18, a parent or guardian must agree to the terms and supervise your use of the service.
🚙 For Drivers (Independent Contractors)
Drivers are independent contractors, not employees of Neighborly Rideshare.
Drivers choose when to be available, which trips to accept, and which routes to take (within the law).
Drivers must:
Have a valid driver’s license and registration.
Maintain own auto and rideshare/TNC insurance that meets Illinois requirements.
Keep their vehicle legal and safe.
Drivers are responsible for:
Following all traffic and safety laws.
Handling insurance claims with own insurer if an incident occurs.
Reporting any safety issues, and misuse on the platform.
👶 Kids, Teens, Seniors, Business & Delivery
Kids (5–12)
Limited, school-focused rides (for example, morning and afternoon school trips).
A parent/guardian must set up and manage the account and approve usage.
Teens (13–17)
May use the service with parent/guardian consent.
Drivers can choose whether or not to accept trips involving minors.
Seniors (65+)
Can use Ride Now, Ride Later, and Ride Weekly like standard adult riders.
Some drivers may offer extra help at their discretion.
Business
Businesses can create accounts for employees or authorized riders (18+).
Extra billing and account terms may apply.
Delivery
For small, non-perishable items and pharmacy runs only (no cash, no hazardous or restricted items).
We don’t handle or store items — drivers handle the pick-up and drop-off.
📱 How You Can Request Rides
You can request rides or deliveries (beta) by:
Using the Neighborly Rideshare App (beta)
Using our website (if available)
Texting dispatch
Calling and speaking with our AI assistant or a human team member
Important:
AI and support staff can help you, but they cannot guarantee that a driver will accept your request.
A ride is only confirmed when you get a clear confirmation from the platform.
💳 Payments, Promos & Points
We only accept electronic payments for trips arranged through the platform.
Cash payments are not supported or recorded through Neighborly Rideshare.
We may offer:
Loyalty points

These:
-Have no cash value on their own.
-Can be changed or ended at any time.

How drivers drive,

Or anything that happens outside the app or off the platform.
⚖️ Disputes, Law & Arbitration
If there’s a disagreement between you and Neighborly Rideshare, we first try to solve it informally.
If we can’t, most disputes must be handled by binding arbitration, not by a jury trial or class action lawsuit.
Illinois law generally applies to these Terms.
🧾 Data & Privacy
We collect and use certain data so the platform can work (for example: contact info, trip info, and payment data).
We handle your information under our Privacy Policy (linked separately).
The Services are hosted in the United States; by using them, you agree to your data being processed here.
📩 Electronic Communication & SMS
When you use the Services, you agree to receive:
Emails,
In-app messages,
Text messages (SMS) about your account, trips, and system updates.
You can opt out of marketing texts at any time by replying STOP, but we may still send important operational or safety messages.
